Republican Candidate
Kimberly Skaggs
Kimberly Skaggs is a disgusting deadbeat, skipping out on paying nearly $350,000 in bills owed by her business
Skaggs is way too extreme for New Mexico. She’s a member of the “Patriotic American Cowboys”, a far-right extremist organization, and runs the New Mexico Republican Party that peddles Donald Trump's Big Lie that he won the 2020 election in New Mexico.
Skaggs and her family are under investigation by the Federal Election Commission for their participation in an illegal donor scheme to unlawfully funnel money to a GOP congressional candidate in Albuquerque. According to the FEC complaint, they used an LLC registered to their young adult son at a vacant lot to funnel $100,000 in illegal campaign contributions—even though the LLC has no visible source of income that would allow it to make the contributions.
Skaggs stated that one of the main reasons she’s running for the NM House is to “protect life” by opposing abortion. The party she leads wants to outlaw abortion in all cases, with no exceptions for rape, incest or life or health of the mother.
As a member of the Governing Board of Alma D’Arte Charter High School, Kimberly Skaggs presided over a period of significant dysfunction. The school has faced embezzlement, staff turnover, low proficiency scores, and threats of losing its charter. The Public Education Commission criticized the board for its lack of transparency, mishandling of students with disabilities, and general incompetence, suggesting that Skaggs’ leadership is inadequate and harmful to the institution's stability.
