Republican Opponent
Luis Terrazas
Luis Terrazas sides with insurance companies, not you. He has voted against bipartisan legislation to help families on Medicaid. He voted against reducing insurance costs; he voted against relief for New Mexicans crushed by medical debt. He voted against lowering prescription drug prices. He voted against funding to keep our rural hospitals open.
Luis Terrazas voted against a bill that would help cities and towns combat overdoses from drugs like Fentanyl.
Terrazas opposed the bill despite a 32-percent increase in overdose deaths in 2020 and a staggering 1,594-percent rise in overdose deaths related to synthetic opioids, including fentanyl, since 2015.
While energy costs soar, Luis Terrazas voted against legislation to lower home utility costs. Low-income New Mexicans incurred approximately $18.7 million in utility debt during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Luis Terrazas served on the WNMU Foundation board and defended corrupt WNMU President Joseph Shepard, who spent hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars on lavish decorations, first-class plane tickets, a $900 hair dryer, and more. Shepard also gave Terrazas a $1,000 campaign contribution.
